The Robert and Gennie DeWeese Gallery at Bozeman High School invites the Bozeman community to view The Deck Show, an invitational exhibit featuring skateboard deck art by 27 local and regional artists. The exhibit will be on display through November 14. This dynamic exhibit called on a diversity of talent within our community and beyond; definitely an exhibit worth catching within the walls of Bozeman High School.
The Deck Show was a collaborative community effort between the DeWeese Gallery, Gallatin Valley Skatepark Association (GVSA) and World Boards. Artist’s were provided a blank skateboard deck as their canvas and challenged to create original works using their medium of choice over the summer months; collage, illustration, paint and metal are some examples of the media used in this creative endeavor. Decks will be available for purchase in a silent auction format where viewers may bid throughout the duration of the exhibit; culminating in a closing reception and end of the auction on Thursday, November 13 from 6-8 p.m. Sales of the deck art will benefit the artist, Bozeman High School Art Club and GVSA.
The DeWeese Gallery is located inside the main entrance to Bozeman High School, 205 N. 11th Avenue. Guest parking is available in the north parking lot next to the tennis courts. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
