Resolving Not to Resolve Too Much

I always resolve not to make outlandish New Year’s resolutions. If I set my sights too high, I’m often disappointed. So over the years, I’ve gotten realistic. Which probably sounds like I don’t have much ambition. That isn’t the case. I just decided my life is pretty darn good. I don’t need to change a lot. And big changes aren’t going to happen because I toast a new year. They’re going to happen because I finally reach a tipping point (Which usually doesn’t happen simply because it’s January 1.) and decide to make a change. So, here are my simple resolutions:

Try to be the best mom I can be. (This sounds so flighty, I know. But I do think it’s an everyday decision to do the best I can for Scarlet.)

Nurture the relationships that matter.

Walk everyday.

Cut myself some slack. Success is an elusive beast.

Fight fair.

Did you make New Year’s resolutions?

*Oh, one more. I resolve not to take myself too seriously.
