This is what is going on this week, June 22-28, under the beautiful Big Sky!

There is a lot happening in South West Montana this week.

This weekend is the Headwaters Country Jam!!! A lot of people have been looking forward to this weekend for months. The Headwaters Country Jam takes place at the bridge near Three Forks, MT. County Jams starts June 25th and runs through June 27th. Gates open Thursday June 25th at 3pm. Tickets are $60 a day. Some of the acts that will be there are Clint Black, Trace Adkins, Uncle Kracker, Gloriana, and lots more! Visit headwaterscountryjam.com for more information!

Quite a few things happening in beautiful Butte America. June 23 and 25 there is a Teens in Training Program at the World Museum of Mining from 9am to noon. This program pairs teens with mentors to experience museum operations. Visit www.miningmuseum.org for more information. Also at the World Museum of Mining is a summer youth program that is taking place June 24th form 9am to noon and the cost is $15.

The Skyline Park is finally having its Grand opening at 10am June 27th  in Butte at Continental Dr., just NE of Hillcrest School and NCAT. There will be free fishing lessons for children, there will also be a sapling giveaway, an informative tour, shelter adoption event, and more. June 28th at Stodden Park on there will be the Butte Community Celebrations Veterans Picnic which will run from 1pm to 5pm. There will be a free BBQ with other goodies, beverages, and music. Veterans and their families are invited.

There a few things going on in Anaconda this weekend. June 27th there is the Annual Relay for Life at the Kennedy Center from 2pm to midnight. Call 406-560-5885 for more information on the event. June 28th St. Timothy’s Summer festival kicks off the 2015 season at the chapel near Georgetown Lake with Luca Rodon and his 3 piece Jazz Ensemble, the concert starts at 4pm. It sounds like they are having a lot of fun in Deer Lodge this weekend. June 26th they are having a ghost tour of the old prison. Dare to walk the halls of the old territorial prison at night. Its $50 a person at it starts at 10:30pm. Call 406-846-3111 for more information and to make reservations, which is highly recommended. June 27th is the Deer Lodge Vintage Days at the Tri-County Fairgrounds under the grand stands from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free. View a collection of antique, vintage, shabby chic and items crafted from repurposed and recycled items. Also June 26-28th is the Annual Weapons Collection’s Society Gun Show, it is being held at the old prison, Friday noon to 6, Saturday 9am to 5:30pm and Sunday 9am to 3pm. The cost is $5 for adults and $1 for ages 10-18 and kids 10 and under are free.

Virginia City is having Living History Weekend; the hanging of Red Yeager. This is happening June27-28th and performances at 2:30pm each day.

Jefferson City sounds like the place to be though because June 27th they are having the 15th Annual Fairies and Wizards Festival at the Tizer Gardens from 10am to 4pm. This event is family friendly, dress up in you finest fairy and wizard costumes. The cost is $7. There is be kid activities, music, food, and kid parades. June 27th in Twin Bridges they are having the Floating Flotillas Fish Fantasy, a parade on the Beaverhead River. There will also be a community picnic, a fun run, raffles, kid games, and a cow pasture golf tournament. Call 406-684-5686 for more information.

June 26-27th Big Timber is having a rodeo which includes calf roping, steer wrestling, bronc and bull riding, barrel racing, and the always popular wild cow riding. This is taking place at the Sweet Grass County Fairgrounds, June 26th the rodeo starts at 7pm and June 27th at 6pm.

This weekend is packed with lots of fun, so go out and have fun and be safe. Don’t forget the sunscreen if you plan on being outside!
