Montana Parent - Quick Quiz with Montana Gift Corral owner - Bert Hopeman

This is Bert Hopeman. He and his wife came to visit Bozeman in 1991 and fell in love with it.  Like so many of us they wished to make a life for themselves here in the valley. In ‘92 they visited many times.

One wintery day, she toured Main Street as he was out and about. They were considering starting a business. Bert has a love of the outdoors and was considering what it would take to make a good climbing outfitter. But although his passion for the sport was there, he is a savvy character and given that there were already a couple of good gear shops, that plan didn’t take root.

Sharon and Bert met for dinner that night and over a glass of wine, downloaded the day's events. Sharon was trying to find some gifts to bring home. But just couldn’t find anything in the $20 to $30 price range that wasn’t a t-shirt or a coffee mug. She really wanted something heartfelt and grounded in the locale.

“Maybe we should open a little gift shop on Main?” As they say, the rest is history. To this day they offer a wide variety of quality items in that price range.
