Wanna look like a Sparkly-Unicorn-Powered Mama? Have an hour?

This is the simplest thing in the world but it will bring tears of admiration to your child's eyes.

Chocolate Caramel Balls

  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered cocoa
  • a little bit of butter
  • toppings of your choice to roll the candy in

Grease a glass dish. A pie plate will work just fine.

Whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and cocoa powder in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat for 4 or 5 minutes. Seriously, set the timer as it won't take any longer than that. When it's pulling away from the pan, remove from heat and spread in the greased dish.

Chill for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Put your toppings into small bowls. Cocoa powder, cake decorating sugars or sprinkles, chopped nuts, toasted coconut. We used sprinkles and cocoa powder.

Here's the part that kids love! Grease yours and their hands with butter and roll the cooled caramel onto balls. Shake, rattle and roll in the bowls. when they are all covered, chill for another 30 minutes and you are done!

If you make them teaspoon sized you'll make a couple dozen. They are really sweet so it doesn't take much to satisfy.
