I’m going on a camping trip with my family and I’m bringing . . .

Just kidding about the duct tape. Although, it is very handy. But seriously, I am going camping with my family (albeit cabin camping) and I could use some help with my list of essentials. We're only going for a couple of days and we'll be close to civilization.

The kids are so excited that they have already rolled up their sleeping bags and have packed the things that they love. Flashlights, remote controlled robots, water balloons, old Halloween candy (they are hoarders), a hand mirror, sparkle toothpaste, glow sticks, fuzzy slippers and some, well, plain old sticks. I don't get what the sticks are for either, I think they want to put them back where they belong or something.

What is on your list? What are must-have items for the long ride and the unplugged adventure with small people? Beyond basics - what has made your trips into the wild great?

I'm thinking I might need some string to go along with the sticks. Maybe I'll just use the duct tape.
