Grandma Shirley’s Bridge Club Recipes - Tomatillo Salsa

Here is a recipe from Britni over at Gallatin Valley Botanical . We love their CSA so much and in this weeks box there was everything needed to make tasty Tomatillo Salsa! I made it right away and it is delish! Her recipe didn't call for garlic, but I put garlic in pretty much everything (no fear of vampires here!)

Tomatillo Salsa Verde

Remove papery husks and rinse well.

Halve the tomatillos and place them cut side down on a foil lined baking sheet. (I used an insulated baking sheet and it worked fine.) Placeunder a broiler for about 5-7 minutes to lightly blacken the skin. (You can grill the tomatillos instead of broiling.)

Chop up a jalapeno (be sure to remove the seeds - that is where the heat comes from), an onion and pick a mess of cilantro.

Place all the ingredients in a food processor, squeeze lime juice over the top, add a dash of sugar if you like, pulse until everything is finely chopped and mixed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Voila!
