I just picked up my last Summer 2013 CSA box from Gallatin Valley Botanical. It has been a real treat all summer long and I am looking forward to the winter subscription which will be starting up soon!
Not only can you subscribe and get your own share of excellent locally grown produce, you can join in one of the upcoming Farm to School events that promote our kids well-bring by getting real food into the schools and a deeper understanding of that fundamental source of life.
Come celebrate National Farm to School Month in the Gallatin Valley at the first Farm to School Feastival!
Sunday, October 13, 2013
from 2:00pm to 5:00pm
at the Rocky Creek Farm near Bozeman.
Hosted by Gallatin Valley Farm to School, a local nonprofit organization, this free event will feature a mobile chef cook-off competition, delicious food, music by Flatt Cheddar, kids’ activities, farm fun, and more! Delicious food will be available for purchase from the Chef Cook-off competitors and will feature one locally or Montana grown item, as well as a local mystery ingredient to be revealed to contestants that day. Farm to School Feastival goers will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite chef to be crowned with the Purple Carrot Award!
And beyond that, Rocky Creek Farm has so much going on that I thought it best to simply direct you to their Facebook page. Click on the picture and via the magic of the interwebs, all the info will be at your fingertips.
