Drum Roll Please! The Belgrade Splash Park is OPEN

Sun-up to sundown the splash park is free and open for your enjoyment!

Here's how you do it:

Put on your swim suits and cover-ups. Grab the sunscreen and the towels, no need for floaties - it is perfect for the small people who are not accomplished swimmers yet. Yay, mama -all fun and no fear. Load everyone into the car and head out the Frontage Road to Belgrade.

Realize about halfway there that you'd really like an Iced Mocha or Chai. And the kids start asking for snacks. But it's Belgrade and you don't really know what's available.

I do!

Coming from Bozeman:

Take the Frontage Road East, passing by the airport.

Just after the Airport on the righthand side of the road is The Fly-By Cafe . Totally unassuming little restaurant and coffee shop. Wonderful coffee, teas, juices and an amazing selection of food. Omelets, Burgers, Sandwiches, Salads, Muffins, Scones, Bagels and more. Many options for $5.00 or less and nothing over $10.00!

If you stop in to make any purchase and you tell them that you heard about them from Montana Parent Magazine, you get a FREE 12 oz. drink of your choice!

Hop back on the Frontage Road - easy because it's on the right and you are heading to the right.

Drive for about a 1/2 mile. When you get to the Central Valley Fire Department, Take a right and you have arrived at the Lewis and Clark Park. Go Splash!

The water is really cold and the park can be a bit busy on hot weekend days but it is pure bliss to go to during daytime on weekdays - or anytime after 5:00 pm. At 6:00 pm, I've rarely seen more than two other families winding down their evening on hot and windy summer days.

There is a tree shaded playground and some great equipment to play on as a transition point to keep kids happily refreshed but not teeth chatteringly cold and wet in the car.
