Summer Sosten Fest and Great Pasty Throwdown

June 08, 2019
11:00am - 4:00pm

3040 Continental Dr, Butte

The Sosten Fest and Great Pasty Throwdown is a FREE event highlighting local foods and featuring a pasty competition as the main event. Pasty registration is available for both home kitchens and restaurants. Sign up at the Sosten Fest website here:

Competitors are encouraged to use local food in their pasties as a way to support local growers and sellers, as well as reduce the distance the ingredients have to travel. NCAT is partnering with the Butte Chamber of Commerce to encourage businesses in neighboring communities to join the competition.

Sosten Fest will also feature a seed and plant sale, where attendees can pick out locally grown plants well-adapted to growing in Butte. Visitors can also tour NCAT’s small-scale intensive farm to learn about growing in this climate. Exhibit booths will feature local food, Montana energy solutions, and resilient communities. Free registration at the Sosten Fest website.

There will also be activities for kids, live music, local beer and drinks, and demonstrations about sustainable farming, energy, and communities.

This FREE festival will take place on June 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the NCAT campus in Butte, 3040 Continental Drive. It is hosted by National Center for Appropriate Technology - NCAT and its ATTRA - Sustainable Agriculture program.
