Join Big Brothers Big Sisters, Montana Discovery Foundation and the Lewis & Clark Library for the NEA Big Read kick off for kids! The Big Read Book this year is Lab Girl, by Hope Jahren. The Little Read book this year is Pilu of the Woods, by Mai K. Nguyen.
Rebecca Skeldon from Montana Discovery Foundation & the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, will do a program about how to become a young naturalist journal, with supplies provided that you get to keep!
Have some fun exploring your own back yard, as a new scientist, in your own right. Each participant will be given a book and all youth will be given a naturalist kit. We will learn a bit about what it means to be a scientist, take a walk/observe in the yard and have fun/healthy snacks.
This is open to all matches and the community. PLEASE RSVP by September 30th, so we can prepare kits and snacks. Call (406) 442-7479 to register.
