BPL welcomes a traveling exhibit showcasing Montana's Carnegie libraries in January, in conjunction with a book release! Kate Hampton of the Montana State Historic Preservation Office will speak to her book, The Best Gift: Montana’s Carnegie Libraries revealing the history of these iconic libraries. Between 1910 and 1922, seventeen Montana communities built libraries with money given to them by the era's richest man, Andrew Carnegie. Ms. Hampton will delve into Bozeman’s own Carnegie library, giving the history of this monumental structure that sits on the corner of Bozeman and Mendenhall.
